Why are you studying Information Systems?

Actually..I'm not! I'm studying a Computer Science course but this one of my electives for Semester Two 2001.

I decided to choose Information Systems in Organisations (615-120) for a number of reasons

  • Friends recommendations who did it in Semester One.

  • It was the only elective I could really find related to my computer orientated course in which I was also eligible for credit.

  • It looked more enjoyable than Digital Electronics and Microprocessors (431-102) which I did in Semester One.

And I haven't regretted my decision. Its been fun - relatively to doing any subject ;) and really interesting as well as informative. As we basically delve straight into programming with the Computer Science degree, i particularly found general things I didn't know much about and which we don't cover in Computer Science very interesting. These include areas such as compression, security and HTML

What will you be doing in ten years time?

I appear to have already answered this dot point in the 'personal' section. So go there for this part!
